This painting is a triptych because the arrival of Mary and Joseph is a daytime picture. The shepherds were there at night, and the wisemen traveled a long time to reach the Christ child. So time is the separation. The painting is ( 16 wide 6.6 tall ) and is housed at the Myers Park United Methodist Church, NC
